Sir — Addressing a huge crowd at his oath-taking ceremony at the historic Ramlila Maidan, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal prioritised the annihilation of the rampant corruption and promised to rid Delhiites of a graft-ridden system.
Bribes eat into the roots of the system and shake the people’s confidence in a Government. Perhaps, with a view to keeping himself stress-free and also keeping a tab on the working of his colleagues, this aam aadmi in the real sense of the word, has not accepted any portfolio.
This is a commendable gesture from a person of his calibre in these power-hungry times. Despite all the political forces militating against Mr Kejriwal, he has been re-crowned the Chief Minister of the Delhi. Now, it is up to him to deliver on his promises and live up to the hopes of the people.
