Nothing Gandhian about this Mahatma follower

Govindan Kutty

The Mahatma Gandhi of India in the 21st century, Anna Hazare, has started a satyagraha again in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. This time, he is opposing the Union Government’s proposed amendments to the land acquisition Act. His disciple, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, is also back on the streets and even exhorted all his 67 MlAs to join the protest.

It is deplorable that Anna chose to protest without having seriously discussed the matter with Government representatives. He says he is a follower of Mahatma Gandhi. In which case, he should study the history of the Mahatma's struggle against the British. The Mahatma launched protest movements only after his discussions with the British authorities failed. He also discussed all issues with other Congress leaders. Whom did Anna consult except himselfIJ

People like Anna Hazare and Mr Kejriwal come across as egotistical. Their only aim seems to be self-aggrandisement.
