Sir — This refers to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s observation that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had done nothing to check Pakistan from shelling Indian positions.
Someone should tell Mr Gandhi, since he is so terribly ill-informed, that it was Jawaharlal Nehru who created the Kashmir mess that we are battling today. He had ignored sound advice from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and others on the subject. It was he who had rushed to the United Nations with the issue. Till date, Pakistan continues to use the UN excuse to ridicule India.
