This refers to the editorial, “Checking radicalisation” (February 4). Given that BJP’s critics often seek to tarnish the party as an anti-Muslim party, Union Minister for Home Affairs Rajnath Singh has done well to reach out to the minority community leaders to counter the growing threat of the Islamic State terror group.
We all know the modus operandi of such terror group and how they mislead the youth. Especially after the recent threat from terrorist Hafiz Saeed that India will be facing more Pathankot-like attacks, the NDA Government’s proactive approach is all the more important.
Also, Muslims clerics need to understand that issuing a fatwa against the Islamic State will not work anymore. Instead, they need to show young Muslims that there is no dearth of education and growth opportunities for the community in this country. And, if the youngsters move in the right and positive direction, they will surely do well.
