Sir — This refers to the editorial, “It is time to celebrate” (September 25). In fact, the social media is a double-edged weapon, benefiting if used in a constructive way and harming if done otherwise. Ironically, it is being exploited by some to foist personal views about significant matters as nationalism, patriotism and liberalism on others in an aggressive way and thereby, causing misunderstanding, despite the fact that divergence of views and opinions does amount to hostility.
However, these differences should not be allowed to drive a wedge between communities. Since this is the festive season, people should enjoy with zeal and enthusiasm as the victory of good over evil is in order to mark a positive approach towards life in the interests of the national at large.
