Sir — This refers to the report that senior Uttar Pradesh Minister Mohammed Azam Khan has flayed the media for criticising the recent foreign tour of the State’s MlAs led by him. His reaction to the brouhaha, created in sections of the media over the study tour, is justified, given that the tour was chalked out at the invitation of the Commonwealth countries and the United Nations, and cleared by the Centre.
Moreover, the National Human Rights Commission has given a clean chit to the incumbent State Government for the manner in which it has tackled the violence in Muzaffarnagar and provided relief to the victims. Therefore, the allegations against Mr Khan, who is also in charge of Muzaffarnagar, were politically motivated by his rivals and entirely baseless.
