Sir — This refers to the article, “How to deal with the Iron Brothers” (May 29) by Ashok K Mehta. Since the humiliating defeat of 1962, India has only had 60 years to prepare and defend itself against Chinese needling, but the totally inept and corrupt political leadership has been too busy squandering public money rather than worrying about the country’s security, sovereignty and honour. We continue to display the same docile behaviour that encouraged the Muslim invaders and the British to rule us in the past.
