Letter to the Editor

let's pull up our socks before blaming others

Ashish Kumar

This refers to the article, “Barking up the wrong tree helps no cause” (March 14) by Karishma Sundara. We may be developing at a fast rate, but in order to match the world, it is time to go in for self-realisation. We have a rich socio-cultural history and it is important to preserve it with utmost care. But we also need to address our shortcomings. Sitting idle and boasting about the past will do no good. Many cultures across the world have accepted their drawbacks and made amends.

We must develop a sense of acceptance of our flawed thinking and  regressive mindset. There must be a period of self-introspection for our nation to move forward. Blaming others and keeping society tied to illogical and irrelevant thinking will result in the pot boiling to an extent where the cooling will not be easy in times to come. This can lead us to a state of instability.
