learn from mistakes

Jl Ganjoo

Sir — The BJP should take the initiative and raise the issue of Chinese incursion forcefully and seriously to prod the weak-kneed, lumbering Congress-led UPA Government into action.

As is quite apparent, the UPA Government mostly prefers to sit on the fence and wait for things to move by themselves. It revels in its own infirmities of resolve. Not so China, which has boldly gone and pitched another tent and put up banners marking the Indian territory as ‘Chinese’.

This is not the time to either repeat history or to believe in the efficacy of holding talks. Our talks with both Pakistan and China in the past have proved futile. And the nation can hardly afford to lose its territory just because some leaders are aspiring for a Noble Peace prize.

The country has paid a heavy price for its past mistakes. The ruling UPA ought to be more seized of the issue and hold no talks till China vacates the Indian territory. let India not shirk from using force to push the Chinese back. Enough is enough.
