Sir — There is nothing to match the entertainment dished out by the Indian Premier league tournament. The electrifying atmosphere in the stadiums is proof that a well-orchestrated show will gain attraction. The final match on Sunday started with the national anthem — this has now become a mere formality. It is possibly only in India that the national anthem is sung in different pitches and tunes. Worse still, it was appalling to see vocalists perform the national anthem with their right arms across their chests. This is an American practice. In India, we are supposed to stand in attention to the rendering of the national anthem.
