Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, who has been saying all along that fighting corruption is his mission for which he entered politics, has realised that this is easier said than done.
He waited for an opportunity to come out of governance, instead of going ahead with his mission. Through a holier-than-thou attitude and gimmicks for public consumption and adoption of a confrontationist attitude with even the lieutenant Governor, he found he was a square peg in a round hole and had to resign as Chief Minister.
Now, with his eye on Parliament and after seeing that the wind is blowing in favour of Mr Narendra Modi, Mr Kejriwal has suddenly begun saying that communalism is a greater danger than corruption. This is sheer opportunism and displays his lack of commitment. He should reflect on why even Anna Hazare and his erstwhile colleagues like Kiran Bedi and General VK Singh, are disenchanted with his immature outbursts.
