Kejriwal must blame himself for the loss

Exit poll results for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections predicted a clean sweep for the BJP. Sensing poll trends, Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and his party raised the bogey of faulty EVMs and attacked the poll authorities for not allowing people to vote. However, the actual poll results have confirmed the exit poll findings. Instead of accepting defeat gracefully, AAP leaders have said that ‘EVM wave' was behind the BJP's victory. As a matter of fact, EVMs have no role in exit polls.

The people of Delhi handed over a thumping majority to the AAP just two years ago but are now disillusioned with the party. For that, Kejriwal must blame nobody but himself and his confrontationist attitude, disregard for constitutional provisions and institutions. He blamed the MCDs for unhygienic conditions and warned the voters that if they voted for the BJP, they themselves would be responsible if their children catch dengue or chikengunia. Still, Delhiites voted for the BJP.
