This has raised the morale of the party, which has now ventured to win 44+ seats out of the 87 seats in the State Assembly election. Congress stalwart Sham lal Sharma has pitched in for a Hindu Chief Minister for the first time in J&K. The Constitution does not bar a Hindu from becoming the Chief Minister of this State.
