Sir — On our Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered an inspiring speech with an open and pro-people mind. It was commendable that he addressed the nation without a bullet-proof screen around him and that he spoke extempore. It was a flow of spontaneous patriotic sentiment.
Mr Modi inspired the youth through his ‘Make in India’ mantra. He encouraged the empowerment of the girl child as well. He also advocated communal peace and harmony for swift and inclusive economic growth. He stressed on political consensus rather than majority bullying in the country’s governance.
Hopefully, the party hungry for the leader of the Opposition’s post will also give paramount importance to national interest.
