Sir — This refers to the article, “It’s a lust for slaughter that drives dog-killers” (October 1) by Hiranmay Karlekar. Perhaps, the writer deliberately ignored the rising number of stray dog menace in Kerala. He did not mention about the number of deaths due to dog bites.
The writer simply argued that the activists killed the dogs to protest against the increasing stray dog menace in the State, and Union Minister Maneka Gandhi’s stand on the issue, when there were other methods of protests. In fact, people have been registering their protest against the stray dog menace for long, with no result.
