Sir — This refers to the article, “Unspeakable acts of cruelty” (September 21) by Hiranmay Karlekar. Cruelty on the chickens is certainly not yesterday’s phenomenon. It is happening since a long time. But the article was really helpful in enlarging people’s knowledge base as surely most are not even aware of the degree of cruelty inflicted on these creatures.
