Half victory

Padmini Raghavendra
Sir — A series of 13 blasts in quick succession ripped through various locations of India’s financial capital on March 12, 1993. The blast case cannot be closed or put to rest unless the masterminds behind the attack are brought to book. After more than 24 years after the incident, an anti-terror court sentenced two convicts to death and three others to between 10 years and a life term in jail. This marks the conclusion of the second leg of the longest-running terror trial in the country. While international pressure needs to be built upon the Pakistan Government to own up to Dawood’s presence in Pakistan and to extradite him to India to face the law, a stricter view needs to be taken of the role of other conspirators in the heinous act.
