Sir — This refers to the editorial, “No stopping GST now” (June 22). The various taxes are combined into one, which is a good measure but its compliance is not an easy task. It is too complex as it will require much more time, even more than presently required, for various taxes which are to be merged into one Goods and Services Tax (GST). The worst part is high tax rates for most important commodities. Minimal and simple forms must be provided for the compliance. It could even lead to inspector raj otherwise. In fact, this is a fear being often expressed.
