Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Kashmir peace fragile” (February 24). It is indeed an alarming situation that even as our Army was locked in a fierce encounter with terrorists in Pampore, local residents tried to prevent the security forces from taking action.
Yes, this time of the year, when summers sets in, terrorist attacks are a common phenomena, but it looks as if the Pampore attack was a handiwork of the local people. The need of the hour, therefore, is to have a sustainable political engagement with all stakeholders. Any delay in Government formation in Jammu & Kashmir will create more problems. Hopefully, Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti will take a call before it gets too late.
