Sir — Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that his Government will not tolerate violence against any religion. It is a welcome statement. This strong statement should be taken seriously by his party cadre, since his earlier silence had been a cause of concern.
We hope that Mr Modi will stand by what he has said and act when the need comes. Those indulging in communal divide should also shun controversy and allow him to perform.
Besides, the Prime Minister should shut the mouths of his people who, day-in and day-out, bring disrepute to him by their hate speeches. In the past nine months, we have had enough. Now it is time to govern. Mr Modi should act on the promises he has given to the people.
