Sir — The death of a terrorist in any part of the world is to be rejoiced. The killing of Pakistani Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud in a US drone attack is an important step towards breaking the backbone of global terrorism.
Despite vociferous protest by Islamabad on drone attacks, the US has refused to call off the strikes, and this is welcome as the attacks have eliminated many important terrorists.
Interestingly, the US has rarely been a direct victim of major terror attacks (apart from 9/11), while India is constantly at the receiving end of terrorists who are trained in Pakistan and pushed into this country by the ISI. Yet, India has not been able to do anything beyond issuing hollow warnings.
What prevents New Delhi from collaborating with the US and inflicting drone attacks on militant-infected areas of PakistanIJ Why cannot the UK also join inIJ Both the US and the UK stand against terrorism.
