Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Kashmir situation grim” (April 17). More than the mainstream politicians, the Union Government has to take firm action to liberate the Kashmiri youth from the clutches of Pakistani terrorists. The Indian Army must be asked to respond to the stone-pelters with an overwhelming force. The security forces must also be given the liberty to wipe out all pro-Pakistani elements, including leaderships. The longer the Indian Government allows this situation to continue, the worse it will get.
