Game changer

Arnab Dey

Sir — This refers to the report, “Jhulan is highest wicket-taker in women’s ODIs” (May 10). Hats off to Jhulan Goswami for becoming the most successful bowler in the history of women’s One-Day Internationals. She eclipsed the decade-long record of Australia’s Cathryn Fitzpatrick’s 180 wickets, by claiming her 181st in her 153rd match. It must be a double delight for her as her record-breaking performance also helped India beat South Africa by seven wickets in the Women’s Quadrangular Series at Potchefstroom in South Africa. Hopefully, she will soon become the first in the history of women’s ODI cricket to get 200 wickets.
