Fuelling protests

Jai Prakash Gupta
Sir — In a welcome move, the judiciary rightly scrapped every attempt to extend reservation to the Jats in Haryana. However, the resourceful and powerful community is at it once again, and threatened to observe a ‘black day’ to protest against their demands not being implemented by the BJP-led
Haryana Government.
Adding on to the problems for the BJP Government in Haryana is the extended support that these agitators have received from the Congress, the Indian National lok Dal and the media. Strangely, these people never ask the protesters to agitate (if at all) against the Supreme Court
or the Punjab and Haryana
High Court.
Actually, the media has always been comfortable with anarchy and disharmony in the BJP-ruled States. The Jat leadership in Haryana is jealous of a non-Jat Chief Minister too. The State Government must talk tough with the anarchists, while working to maintain social
harmony for inclusive growth and prosperity.
