This refers to the editorial, “Incompetent, incapable” (September 13). In Mahatma Gandhi’s autobiography, My Experiments With Truth, an instance comes which reads as: “He who serves a band of dacoits by being their companion, or their carrier while they are about their business, or their nurse while they are wounded, is as much guilty of committing dacoity as the dacoits themselves.
” In the same, way the editorial indicts former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. It is true that Mr Singh was the Prime Minister only in name, while power resided elsewhere, but the moment he came to know about the scandals and the veiled threat of allies to withdraw support, he should have made his exit with dignity.
The Congress is a past master in not acknowledging the reality and instead blaming the whistle-blower. This time also it has accused former Comptroller and Auditor-General Vinod Rai, over the latter holding the former Prime Minister responsible for not failing to act.
