Sir — The election results of the Maharashtra and Gujarat local bodies indicate very clearly that the smart, sensible, understanding and patriotic voters from the two States have in general have whole-heartedly welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation drive in the larger national interest. On the other hand, anti-demonetisation protests have been flops.
