Flood woes

Bal Govind

This refers to the editorial, “Flood creating havoc” (August 2). It is unfortunate that even as flood has become a perennial problem in Assam, successive Governments have not tackled this problem which has claimed both human and animal lives.

However, there’s no point talking about the past. It is heartening that Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is taking proactive measures. On the other hand, the visit made by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh  will further Sonowal’s cause.

The BJP has got the mandate to serve Assam for the next five  years and it should utilise this opportunity to push development works. last but never the least, it is not the amount of flood relief package but right implementation of it that will bring relief to Assam.
