Sir — This refers to the report, “Dengue takes first toll in Delhi, 17 yr old girl dies” (July 27). Dengue is taking a far bigger human toll than was believed. Achieving ideal environment for mosquito eradication involves resources, money, education, community participation, change in attitude and social will. Increased knowledge among communities, to seek early treatment for symptoms, can resemble those of dengue. It is both for the authorities and citizens to keep their surroundings clean.
