This refers to the article, “Some defaulters more equal than others” (April 18) by Joginder Singh. Big loans are given to large borrowers at the behest of politicians and bureaucrats. On the other hand, small borrowers have no backing and hence, they face music from the banks. Moreover, big defaulters get expensive lawyers to bleed the banks and to prick holes in the law. Sadly, the law of the land too favours the rich.
