Sir — This refers to the editorial, “A compromised chief” (November 22). By keeping CBI Director Ranjit Sinha out of the ongoing 2G Spectrum scam investigation, the Supreme Court has reaffirmed our belief that there is more to the probe than meet the eye.
Mr Sinha’s deliberations with some of the accused in his house could not have been a mere coincidence. The Supreme Court should be lauded for re-instilling faith into the probe of one of the biggest rip-offs the country has seen in the recent past. But it has been dragging on a bit too much to reach a conclusion.
Hopefully, this latest directive from the apex court will help not only faster closure but also send out a lesson to politicians and bureaucrats that they should not join hands to interfere in any CBI probe and let the agency act independently.
