Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Step towards reform” (November 15). The Opposition, particularly the Congress, is so perturbed over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonatisation drive that it has taken to inventing baseless accusations.
The fact of the matter is that the common man, whom the likes of Arvind Kejriwal, Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee and Mayawati are referring to as the “harassed” and the “persecuted” lot, is more than happy and is ready to stand in long queues. It is a reality that, when some new measures are initiated, one has to face hardships. The public knows that times are hard, but there are better days to come.
