Letter to the Editor

End conflict

Shreyans Jain

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “No end to confrontations” (July 22). The face-off between the Delhi Government and Delhi Police is intensifying with the outbreak of every new incident of crime in the national capital. By accusing and shaming the Delhi Police in public, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has demonstrated his lack of political maturity and disregard for institutions. He has been fighting against the lieutenant Governor, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Such tactics may fetch him primetime coverage, but it does little to enhance his image.

It is time the Aam Aadmi Party stopped playing the victim card and citing its helplessness by highlighting only those problems that lead to conflicts. Instead, it should call for dialogue and mediation, and come up with a mutually acceptable solution.
