This refers to the article, “The Sheldon Pollock hold on Indian minds” (March 23) by Rajesh Singh. The Sheldon Pollock sway on the Indian minds was reduced considerably by the likes of Jawaharlal Nehru, who held that “we are not Hindus”, and that “our language is not Hindi”. The followers later on went to other groups to save ‘secularism’. Today, the same followers confess that even if somebody puts a knife on their throats,they shall not say ‘Bharat Mata ki jai’. Their aim was never to make Indians proud, but to make them ashamed of themselves.
