Sir — This refers to the report, “Event on Afzal: JNU orders probe” (February 11). It is quite disturbing that in a prestigious educational institution like the Jawaharlal Nehru University, there are elements who are speaking the language of the Kashmiri separatists and are glorifying terrorists. It is a known fact that Afzal Guru was convicted in connection with 2001 Parliament terror attack case. He was hanged only after he exhausted the all legal channels in his defence and the highest court of the land found no reason for relief.
Students from JNU, who organised a meet to mourn the death of Afzal Guru, argued that the Supreme Court judges cannot decide who is a terrorist. So, will the students take a decision on itIJ Are the champions of ‘freedom of expression’ now listeningIJ
