Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Cat is truly out of the bag” (April 14). It doesn’t matter that the Prime Minister’s Office has rubbished Mr Manmohan Singh’s former media adviser Sanjaya Baru’s book. The country knows that the real power centre was Ms Sonia Gandhi and Mr Manmohan Singh was Prime Minister in name. Even Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh had publicly spoken of two power centres.
In 2004, Congress MPs had elected Ms Gandhi as their leader, but she nominated Mr Singh as the Prime Minister. Her act was trumpeted by the Congress as a big sacrifice. Ten years of UPA rule have exposed Ms Gandhi’s grand design of enjoying power without responsibility.
