Sir — This refers to the report, “Dalit assaults rock Parliament” (July 21). With the BJP’s rise to power at the Centre, party leaders needed to be more sober, cautious and rationale in public-speaking. Sadly, some of the BJP leaders have made undesirable remarks against BJP’s political rivals, minorities, and Dalits without realising that they create trouble for the party and the Government at the Centre.
Although Dayashankar Singh was expelled from the party for passing derogatory remarks against Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati, but this was done only when there was an outburst in Parliament. He should have been expelled simultaneously with his removal from the post of State vice president.
