Sir — The UPA has adopted a scorched-earth policy towards its successor regime. The land Acquisition Act, passed by the UPA, will have a crippling effect on future development projects.
In order to look farmer-friendly, the UPA has escalated the compensation prices so much that the land acquisition cost has gone sky-high. This will not benefit small farmers, who own small portions of land, and will stall new development projects. The BJP either couldn’t or didn’t appreciate the full implications of the enactment.
The wage bill is another white elephant from the UPA. The Seventh Pay Commission will only add to unproductive revenue expenditure.
