Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Iron women” (April 10). Kudos to the entire Indian contingent for winning medals at the Commonwealth Games. Performance of athletes and the medals won by them are a celebration and triumph of human spirit. Many dedicated coaches are still training athletes out of passion they have for sports, despite financial constraints. It is the duty of the Government as also of sponsoring organisations to come forward and allocate sufficient funds and encourage sports. Word by word, sentence by sentence, para by para, these athletes have left their mark in the pages of history.
