This refers to the report, “Dog analogy for Dalit killings sparks row; Singh clarifies” (October 23). Union Minister VK Singh’s contention that the Union Government cannot be blamed for the recent Dalit killings, is indeed ridiculous. Besides, it exposes the NDA Government’s overall mindset towards the country’s downtrodden.
When the nation is facing severe problems, particularly on caste/religion related atrocities, even challenging the unity of the nation, downplaying such significant issues by a Minister is blatantly condemnable. Gen Singh must be punished.
