Letter to the Editor

Colombo is answerable

Bhaskar Guha

Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Short-sighted politics” (March 20). No country should intervene in the sovereign affairs of another, provided that those affairs are within acceptable norms. This is just not the case in Sri lanka which has drawn worldwide condemnation for its reported ethnic cleansing under the pretext of eradication of Tamil terrorism.

India will regret its immoral stand if it continues to choose to look the other way. It is time India joins the club of nations that condemns Colombo for its atrocities against the Tamil population in Sri lanka.
