Sir — The trust vote which the Devendra Fadnavis Government got in the Maharashtra Assembly exposed the gameplan involving the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Shiv Sena and the NCP. Or was the affair stage-managed — a win-win for the BJP, the Shiv Sena and NCPIJ This is what it looks like. The NCP says the Congress and the Shiv Sena did not demand a division at the right time. BJP leaders feel that Wednesday’s proceedings were stage-managed, including the walk-out by the Sena. The NCP was cleverly saved the trouble of voting in favour of the BJP, since the BJP did not want to be seen to be taken the NCP’s support.

The Shiv Sena was saved the trouble of voting against the Government, since talks are still on about its joining the regime. If the Shiv Sena had voted against the BJP, it would have lost whatever little bargaining power it has with the BJP.
