Sir — This refers to the editorial, “It’s time to act. Period” (September 20). Indians are entitled to feel enraged that 18 soldiers lost their lives at the hands of four fidayeen attackers from across the border in Uri. Most of the soldiers were burnt alive in a tent that caught fire when Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists opened fire. Pakistan is ratcheting up tension, violence and instability all along the India-Pakistan border. Islamabad is testing New Delhi’s patience and will. The two nations, born in 1947, have had a different trajectory with respect to economic and social progress. Both should focus on providing a better future for their people.
