Sir — This refers to the editorial, “New SP under AkhileshIJ” (October 10). The re-election of Akhilesh Yadav as the Samajwadi Party’s national president for a five-year term is welcome but challenges for the Yadav scion remain as internal rift within the party continues. The situation is unlikely to change in the coming days and Akhilesh Yadav has to also fight against corrupted politicians too. As far as the 2024 polls are concerned, it is perhaps too early to predict if Akhilesh Yadav can emerge as the prime ministerial candidate.
