Callous Government

Janga Sunuwar

It’s a matter of serious concern that 47 persons, who were directly or indirectly connected with the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh, have been found dead under mysterious circumstances over the years. There is no doubt that the series of deaths is not only unnatural but could be a part of sinister design to wipe out evidences that could drag in the big fish in the net.

The State Government has been put in an awkward position and forced to seek a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan must be blamed for not being able to provide for the safety and security to the witnesses and accused.

Probably, the deaths could have been averted if the State regime had been serious from the beginning with regard to a fair probe. The Special Investigation Team was no more than a formality for the Government to brush the issue under the carpet. This is unacceptable in civilised society. The truth must come out soon.
