This refers to the editorial, “For regional progress” (December 29). It is astounding that a BJP leader of Mr Ram Madhav’s political maturity, intelligence and understanding of India’s ground reality, has fallen into a trap with a needlessly controversy.
As things stand, our first priority should be to develop social, religious and cultural harmony that is in line with Prime Minister Modi’s principle of Sabka saath, sabka vikas. As India is demographically a Hindu-majority country, Hindu dharam and culture are predominant. But by calling India a Hindu nation, we are unnecessarily alienating minorities.
The time has come to build bridges and not create divisions. Mr Madhav’s dream of ‘akhand Bharat’ is not even worth working for.
