Sir — This refers to the report, “I’ve become poster boy of bank default: Mallya” (June 27). Now that Vijay Mallya has expressed his willingness to repay the dues to the banks, it is only fair to provide him with an opportunity to do so.
The authorities that have launched proceedings against him in order to recover dues must continue to watch the situation.
Just in case Mallya fails to pay back the money within a reasonable amount of time, it must be ensured that he is brought back to India to face due legal proceedings.
