Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Bihar’s package politics” (August 20). In its quest for victory in the upcoming election, the BJP was cock-a-hoop about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s humongous package for poll-bound Bihar, which is at least triple of what was expected. But where does this leave other State and Union Government projects that cry out for funds and new projects that only the Centre can implementIJ The politicians have completely forgotten about the cyclone that devastated new Andhra Pradesh terribly. It received only Rs350 crore for the destruction.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar rightly said, “Was he (Modi) in an auctionIJ Was he bidding for BiharIJ The way Mr Modi announced the package, it looks like an auction of Bihar was being held and bids were being made”.
