Sir — This refers to the editorial, “Much ado about nothing” (October 27). The Supreme Court’s departure from its earlier order mandating cinema halls to play the national anthem before the screening of a movie is welcome. Indeed, patriotism is something that should be in-built, and that requires sincere efforts right from childhood — at schools and at home. One cannot force others to think or behave in a certain way or challenge their love for the country. Widespread propaganda on singing and respecting the national anthem is a better option.
