Sir — This refers to the editorial, “A hammer to kill a fly” (April 4). It is a known fact that liquor consumption is harmful to health. Even then, people do not stop drinking. Instead of appreciating the Supreme Court’s order to ban the sale of spirits from all vends, bars and hotels situated within 500 metres of a National Highway, absurd arguments have been put forth of huge loss of business, jobs and revenue etc. Surprisingly, the media too has highlighted such misplaced propositions.
