When these leaders got the ticket for the first time, someone, who must have been senior in the party ranking at that time, might have been denied the ticket to make room for the newcomers. While deciding ticket distribution, weightage should be given to able candidates who have been within the party, but at the same time, the party, being a political set-up, must be open to new and winnable entrants as well.
Mr Jaswant Singh, however, has shown in the past that his loyalty is not unconditional. Given a chance, he chooses to embarrass the very same party which he claims to have patronised, forgetting that he was able to hold some high posts because of the party.
